Dubai Racing Club announces the Photo Finish Awards.

Dubai Racing Club announces the launch of its new ‘Photo Finish Awards’ competition to encourage young media talents to engage with the exciting world of horseracing.
Aimed at students based in the UAE, the Photo Finish Awards will run between November 2021 and April 2022, in tandem with the racing season in the Emirates. The aim is to encourage young individuals to be part of the horseracing scene and through them to widen the exposure and awareness of the sport.
Targeting Creators
Announcing the initiative, His Excellency Major General Mohammed Essa Al Adhab, General Manager of Dubai Racing Club, said: “We are pleased to announce the launch of the “Photo Vision Awards” competition, which targets motivated university students who have talent in creating content through photography or videography. This competition is available to all university students in the country, and we look forward to seeing their artistry.
“Horse racing provides a vibrant and exhilarating atmosphere and provides ample scope for innovation and media creativity. Combined with the stunning backdrop of Meydan Racecourse, we are confident that the young artistic talents of the UAE will be able to produce exceptional content that will help exhibit their talents through this sport that has played a huge role in Dubai’s culture over the years in its most beautiful form.
Awards Categories
The competition is divided into four categories, each of which contains cash prizes in addition to tickets to attend the Dubai World Cup event. In this regard, the competition was created to give more students the opportunity to participate and show their talents during the racing season in Meydan.
The categories are specified as below:
– ‘Racing At Meydan’ [4th November 2021 – 6th January 2022] – Best Photo and Video
– Dubai World Cup Carnival [13th January 2022 – 5th March 2022] – Best Photo and Video
– Dubai World Cup [Submission closes 27th Feb 2022] – Best Video Advertisement
– Dubai World Cup [26th March 2022] – Best Photo and Video
Moreover, Dubai Racing Club clarifies the value of the prizes according to the category, where the prizes for the “Racing at Meydan” races, start from 3,000 AED for the best photo and 5,000 AED for the best video during the races. The prize value then increases during the Dubai World Cup Carnival, with the value of the weekly prizes for the best photo reaching 5,000 AED and the best video 7,000 AED.
In addition, during the Dubai World Cup Carnival, the award for the best promotional video for the Dubai World Cup comes at a value of 30,000 AED for the winning video, which will also have the privilege of being played live during the “Super Saturday” meeting, which is the dress-rehearsal evening for Dubai World Cup, held on the 26th of March 2022. The competition prizes are concluded with the winner of the best photo during the Dubai world Cup evening and will receive a prize of 8,000 AED, while the best video for night will offer the winner a prize of 12,000 AED.
Judging Panel
The Dubai Racing Club announced that to ensure professionalism and fairness in selecting the winners for all prizes of the competition, a jury with extensive knowledge in the field of artistic photography and the film industry has been formed. The jury consists of His Excellency Ali Bin Thalith, Secretary General of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA), who will judge the photography contestants’ submissions. The video creations on the other hand will be evaluated by the talented Emirati director and producer, and creator of the “Freej” animated series, His Excellency Mohammed Saeed Hareb, who is also the owner of the esteemed art production company Lammtara. In addition to the artistic visionary, Her Excellency Maryam Bin Fahad, one of the youngest ambitious leaders in the UAE media sector. She also obtains extensive media experience and many achievements within the field which includes holding the position of Media Advisor to the Minister of State and the National Media Council for the United Arab Emirates.
Participate in the competition
Registration is open to all university students who have the passion for photography and content creation, as those wishing to participate in the competitions for the best promotional video for the start of the season and the best promotional video for the Dubai World Cup can share the content with the competition management on the media email specified below by sending a link to a shared folder, private streaming account or other ways that ensure a good quality of the video reaches the awards management – starting from today.

Competitors will be selected by the management team to participate in the competition and be handed permits to enter the races for filming and content creating after a workshop that will highlight the rules, and regulations of the competition.
