Experience the Thrill & Glamour of Emirates Super Saturday at Meydan Racecourse
- February 26, 2025

Step into a world where elite horseracing meets high fashion and vibrant entertainment. This Saturday, 1 March, the iconic Meydan Racecourse transforms into a playground of speed, style, and international flair, as horses from around the globe compete for a coveted spot on the Dubai World Cup card.
A Day of High Stakes and High Style
Emirates Super Saturday isn’t just another race day—it’s a celebration of sport and sophistication. Held just five weeks ahead of the Dubai World Cup on 5 April, the event features nine thrilling races, with six offering guaranteed entry to their Dubai World Cup counterparts through the exclusive bonus scheme. The highlight? The G2 Al Maktoum Classic, boasting AED1.2 million in prize money and promising an unforgettable display of talent with top contenders like Kabirkhan (under the guidance of eight-time UAE Champion Doug Watson), Korean star Global Hit, and France’s Group 1 winner King Gold.
World-Class Racing Meets International Flair
The racing action is set to dazzle with preps that build excitement for the marquee event ahead. The 2400-metre G2 Dubai City of Gold paves the way for the G1 Longines Dubai Sheema Classic, while the G2 Singspiel Stakes not only serves as a strong race in its own right but also unlocks an automatic entry to the G1 Dubai Turf. Look forward to thrilling match-ups featuring Godolphin’s multiple G1 winner Nations Pride and the British-trained sensation Cairo for Alice Haynes.
Adding an international twist, two impressive Japanese runners join the lineup: American Stage, from trainer Yoshito Yahagi, in the Group 3 Mahab Al Shimaal—an exciting prelude to the G1 Golden Shaheen—and T O Saint Denis, guided by Daisuke Takayanagi, in the G3 Burj Nahaar, set to prepare for the G2 Godolphin Mile.
Other highlights include the Group 3 Nad Al Sheba Turf Sprint, a precursor to the G1 Al Quoz Sprint featuring the defending champion British filly, Frost At Dawn, as well as the culmination of the three-year-old turf series with the Listed Jumeirah 1000 Guineas and Jumeirah 2000 Guineas.
Beyond the Track: A Lifestyle Celebration
Off the track, the excitement continues with an array of lifestyle events designed to charm and engage. The second round of the Style Stakes, sponsored by Emaar, invites racegoers to flaunt their best raceday outfits. A panel of renowned fashion experts—Sarah Silsbury, Kim Fletcher, Osama Rinno, Elena Marinoni and Sara Al Tamimi—will judge the looks, with winners receiving exclusive rewards such as U by Emaar points, 100,00 Skywards Miles, Dubai World Cup hospitality tickets, Clarins vouchers, and luxurious overnight hotel stays. Registration for the Style Stakes begins at 4pm at Concourses 3 and 4 and Trackside by McGettigan’s. To further elevate your stylish raceday experience, pass by a captivating millinery exhibition featuring stunning headpieces from celebrated designers including Kim Fletcher, Vivien Sheriff, Evelyn McDermott, and Victoria Charles.
A Must-Attend Event
HE Ali Al Ali, CEO and Board Member of Dubai Racing Club, sums it up perfectly: “Emirates Super Saturday is one of our most popular and exciting days of racing, offering not only top-
notch preparatory races but also a unique blend of sport, fashion, and entertainment that captivates both racing aficionados and lifestyle enthusiasts.”
With ticket options to suit every taste—from General Admission starting at AED5, to Trackside by McGettigan’s at AED65, and premium hospitality packages beginning at AED315—this is an event you won’t want to miss.
