Meydan Equine Education Programme to Celebrate Children’s Fun Day on February 1

DUBAI (January, 29, 2020)–Students from 15 Dubai schools who have participated in the current season of the Meydan Equine Education Programme (MEEP) have been invited to the Children’s Fun Day on Feb. 1 (Saturday) at Meydan Racecourse. Horseracing leads an action-packed agenda for the afternoon, with special complementary activities including an art competition, a story-telling competition and the ever-popular live talent show. Food and beverages will also be offered to the children and their families.

A group of Emirates Racing Authority (ERA) jockeys have come together to add value to the celebrations. These star athletes posed for a poster that will be presented to each participating student. Jockey cutouts are also being created from two of those jockeys, which will allow children to take amusing photos in jockey attire. Close to 1,200 children are expected to attend and enjoy the annual celebration.

The MEEP programme is held every year between September and April. Each season, students are taken on highly entertaining and educational two–hour tours of Dubai Racing Club stables. Differences between Arabian and Thoroughbred horses are explained using live equine athletes, while the most popular element of the tour is to meet the racing stars of the track.
