Trainer David Simcock discusses BLESS HIM in lead up to DWC Carnival

Trainer David Simcock discusses BLESS HIM who runs in the G2 Singspiel Stakes.

The interview is conducted by Craig Evans, Race Caller with the Emirates Racing Authority.

David Simcock: “Bless Him is a very talented horse. He is 7-year-old now. The plan was to bring him out here. Basically we used last Tuesday as a prep for him, we thought he needed it. The race fell very well for him and he went nicely. We&rsquoll keep him busy over here, we&rsquove got 3-4 races plan and it starts on Thursday.”

“Yeah very well. We generally feel he needs that first run. Of course there is a risk running him back nine days later. But everything seems to be fine, the appetite is good. He has taken to the track very well. We&rsquoll see how he goes on Thursday. He got fined with the weights but he is very talented horse if not quirky.” 

 “The actual stakes programme over here are over 9 and the mile races are valuable which we didn&rsquot have last year. He&rsquoll be trying to pick up as much money as possible. His style of racing, he needs a scenario and hopefully in one of those races it will fit him. He is very talented. He has loads of speed, but he does need everything to fall right. “

“Andrea Atzeni rides him on Thursday, he would probably be my second choice. Jamie knows him very well and rides him very well. Hopefully Andrea would use the same tactics and like I said he needs to be held up, a bit of a pace will do him no harm at all. If he gets that hopefully he&rsquoll run very well.”
