Trainer Erwan Charpy discusses KILFRUSH MEMORIES in lead up to DWC Carnival 2021

 Interview with Green Stables’ trainer Erwan Charpy discussing KILFRUSH MEMORIES, declared for the 1000m(turf) Listed Dubai Dash at Meydan on Thursday. 

The interview is conducted by Craig Evans, Race Caller with the Emirates Racing Authority.

Erwan Charpy: ” Kilfrush Memories is very nice little sprinter from France. He has been going through grades in France winning very competitive races. His owner whose horses we&rsquove had in the past was keen to have a go in Dubai.  It&rsquos a handicap race which is great since we would have the benefit of the weight. Though he is not very big, he is very tough.”

Craig Evans: Starting off with 1000m, is that is his journey or would you expect 1200m later on in the campaign? 

Erwan Charpy: “From what I know of the horse looking at these races probably 1200m might be his preferred distance, but he has got an incredible turn-of-foot and I would say he would track for a while and come with a run. I was very impressed with his last two runs where he flew home from the back showing an incredible turn-of-foot in sprint races.”

Craig Evans: He is French-bred, French-trained and going to be French-ridden as well?

Erwan Charpy: “Exactly. It was a collaboration with Fabrice Chappet trainer in France, the owner was keen to come because we&rsquove had horses before, we decided to work together to make it happen. 

Craig Evans: You mentioned he is small; is he is ready to run the race first up? 

Erwan Charpy: He ran the end of November. From what his trainer told me he is well and he looks well from what we&rsquove seen and he seems very relaxed. So we&rsquoll see.
